I had this same problem. I don't think it works on 32bit CPUs. I switched from an old laptop running on a Core2Duo and 32bit Windows to another laptop with an i5 64bit Windows and it started fine in the i5 64bit.

Don't turn off Anti Virus. I also have Avast and it works fine for European Pool. Go to Options and create an Exception. Use the Path where you installed Electroneum Pool Miner.I'm having the same issue. I'm having the same issues. I've uninstalled Avast and deactivate windows 10 antivirus and then download and installed the software and still not seeing any activities. I'm in the UK so I'm using the Europe mining pool. Every time I select start mining the mining output keeps disappearing. Ran out of ideas. I even set my exclusion to exclude file "electroneumpoolminer.exe still nothing.

If you did that AFTER starting up the miner you need to redo all the steps.

Just don't bother. I think there are just too many people on the official pools. I got tired of waiting for any ETN, 'pending' payout - it's slowed to a serious crawl. I earned like barely 1 ETN in 12 hours after earning a pathetic (but still better) 34 ETN in my first half a day or so of mining. So basically, I have NOTHING to show for my mining cos everything is still pending and I will prob. never reach the 'magic' 100 ETN payout for the official I'm stumbling through awesomeminer now... definitely the way to go, even for a noob. At the very least I feel like I'm finally moving forward. tl;dr - The time you're spending trying to figure out how to get the official pool working is better off spent figuring out how to mine in a different pool

guys i saw this on another forum. have you tried this? i figured out that my laptop CPU is not capable of AES and thus it can't mine ETN at all, unless i plug in an external GPU on my laptop. (got damn it i should have bought a desktop, it would have been much easier to put a GPU in it!). 1.Open the Electroneum beginners miner folder 2.Then you see next folder:"cpuminer-multi-Wolf-aes" AES means that your cpu MUST support AES(Advanced Encryption Settings) instructions. 3.Google your CPU model and check if it has AES instructions support. If it supports, then you need to google how to turn AES on (check your CPU model here, go to ark.intel.com/ , then choose processors , find your CPU mode, then on the left side click on advanced technologies, then under security and reliability, see if AES New Instructions is tagged yes ).4.If your CPU DOES NOT suport AES instructions, you need to download GPU miner(e.x. CCminer). Your CPU cant mine this crypto-currency. but, to save you the hassle of checking your CPU, i figured out from the website that of all the legacy intel chipsets out there (before 4th gen), only i7-980X Processor Extreme Edition and above are compatible with it. so if you have a laptop lower than it (though an i3-4330 and above will work since it's 4th gen, so please check it still just to be sure), forget mining (or just get an external GPU for it if you want to). if you have a desktop running lower than i7-980x PE , then switch to GPU mining. As a test, go to electroneum.hashparty.io/#getting_started, get the Windows miner and try that one. The ETN version would not work at all on two pc's of mine no matter what I did. Tried about 3 until I got this one and it worked immediately. IMHO, there are too many variables (Windows version, CPU type, AES on/off, etc) and the ETN version is just not compatible with some. Try and see how you go.
