This is a quick post for those who have been having difficulties with logging in to their Electroneum account after attempting to receive their code through SMS verification. Richard has stated that SMS verification is a one-time situation and your phone number isn't stored for use later on the Electroneum website, so I will show you one possible work around for this issue.
The problem: When you attempt to complete SMS verification you do not receive a message containing the code to continue to the next stage in account setup, this can happen if your network provider is blocking these messages from coming in. If you have already contacted your service provider and requested that they remove the "Do Not Disturb" feature or any other feature related to text message blocking then you should move on to the next section.
The solution: This solution will attempt to use a free website that allows the use of a disposable phone number so that you can proceed with your Electroneum account verification process and access your online wallet. You can do a simple search on Google for anything along the lines of "free temporary phone number" like I did to find the website that I will use in the process below to walk you through getting back into your account.
Step 1: Visit smsreceivefree.com/ and click on one of the countries that are available (Canada, UK, US) (I recommend using a United States phone number as these seem to cause no issue with receiving messages, if this doesn't work for you then all of the numbers may be exhausted and you should find another website with other phone numbers like this one)
Step 2: Click on any of the phone numbers that are displayed on the page that loads, this will be the number that we are going to use when sending our verification code from Electroneum. This page shows a current list of messages that has already been sent to this number, this is important to know because you will be referencing this page as soon as you send your verification in a later step.
Step 3: Enter the number that you selected from the temporary phone number website into the SMS verification page on the Electroneum website and submit your request to send the code.
Step 4: On the website where you have opened the webpage for your temporary phone number, refresh the page until you see a new message containing the code that is needed to complete your account verification with Electroneum. The message should look something like: "Your code is: ###### Thank you." and contain your own unique verification number within.
Step 5: Enter the number that is received from the temporary phone number website into the account verification page on the Electroneum website and you are now free to move on to the next step in completing your account.
That's it!
As I stated earlier, if this website gives you issues there are literally dozens of other websites that work extremely similar to this one and seem incredibly easy to use as they are disposable numbers mainly for the purpose of a situation like this. Good luck and be sure to share this link to others that are having trouble getting back into their accounts for this same reason. If you have any other sites to recommend and some instructions on how to use them, feel free to leave your own comment.
Cheers!
