A telegram message from the devs stated that almost cerntainly the ICO is closing early because we approached the 40 Million $ target. This way demand will stay high even after the launch and the exchange sites will list ETN sooner due to the high pendind demand. It also sends a clear message to the market that the team is focused on the long term goals. interviews and press releases are probably coming up.

I believe at the moment, we are at around $38 million which puts us only $2 million away from the cap. I'm just wondering how many hours we may have left? I'm hoping we hit 300,000 users.

Yeah, I noticed that. A little strange. For some reason even bitcoin activity at the moment has been super slow as well. Trying to figure out what kind of trend we are experiencing here.
It looks like ETN purchases have been trickling along while the total of people joining is going up at a quicker pace. Which is probably a good thing.

It looks slower because we're aiming for larger totals. Whereas previously we were looking to how quickly membership was jumping (which it likely was to gain bonus) now, we're watching the painstaking watch to go up $2M. Now, in actuality this morning it was more like $37M and change. In fact, to my knowledge, it only crossed $38M within the hour-- I watch this pretty relentlessly.
BUT the thing is we're now watching millions of dollars accumulate, not thousands of users. It looks a lot slower. Of course, if your expectation was $40M by Tuesday (my original expectation) this is going significantly faster, since it appears to have gained $1M in about 15 hours.

Users stopped growing as well. You can check this site to monitor electroneum ico (number of users per hour, money etc...) boumanb.nl/electroneum/statsAnyway we are at 39.1 millions I think we will hit 40 tomorrow. All it takes is a bit increase in bitcoin and eth value after all. Even if no one buys more etn

I base my numbers off the stats in my.electroneum.com -- that said, I am very confused -- the link you sent says we went from 258K users at midnight to 283K now. Both BTC and ETH totals, not values, are going up-- it's what I was basing the numbers on in the shoutbox. We were at around $37M this morning. my photo upload

Yes you are right. ETN is still growing. What I meant was that now we are growing a lot less than during the %bonus offer. See how the curve of new users gets a lot less steep after the last 10% bonus stops. Anyway I'm sorry I gave you the link just now and not earlier this week

As the noob that I'm. I'm just wondering what would happen to the project and your expectations if the Bitcoin price suddenly drops back let's say (to be conservative) it drops to $3,500 I know you guys still would have pretty chunk of money to work with but not the 38 millions right now. As one of your investors I would like to have the sale extended through the last day. Basing the cap on Fiat it is a little risky. I'm just saying. It looks slower because we're aiming for larger totals. But I wasn't on last week-- I am just very good at copying, getting the conversion and adding now

I think the ico will end in 1 or 2 day max, so there is not a big risk of btc dropping down.
For what I know they don't want to go over 40M dollars because if they accept 1 dollar more than they said they would, the market would react badly (accepting more money than announced during an ico is a clear sign of scam and very shady teams)

BTC's price isn't simply going up because of speculation. It's going up because of news of a fork, which gives every user more coins automatically. The $3,500 was caused by an attempted spook of investors by Citigroup's Jamie Dimon. That died off on its own in two weeks. Personally I'd prefer the sale to the last day-- make the coins as rare as possible-- but if their hard cap is $40M, they will probably comfortably achieve that by the weekend.

I'm in the states and I'm thinking it will hit the cap before my morning. My question would be since Electroneum is on London time, is there somebody ready to turn off or shutdown the buying of ETN through the site portal or is it automatically set to stop. I was also wondering are they cashing in the BTC and Ether as it comes in or doing it all at once?

I don't think anyone will think it's a scam if they simply shut it down when business hours begin, which is 4 hours. Tops people might be able to put in another half-mil of trading with effectively no bonus. It likely won't even make it to $41M before someone alerts. My guess is someone will see this within 2 hours actually.
