I have tried the linux app listed on the electroneum website but it doesn't download the blockchain. I keep getting failure to connect to seed peers. I'm using KDE Neon which is based on Ubuntu 16.04 and that application is for latest version of Ubuntu I think. I've tried installing wine and tried all the window miners and none of them work. There is a guy on the mining telegram that says he has his ubuntu 16.04 up and mining His name is Anwer I asked him how, he said he followed the directions here: www.cryptocurrencyfreak.com/2017/08/22/monero-mining-xmr-stak-cpu-ubuntu-16-04/I'm at work right now so I can't try this out until I get home. If anyone can try this and report back thanks.

If nothing, nothing, nothing works. You can mine it from the browser here by just putting in your public paper wallet address. easyhash.io/easy/web_minerMake sure you remove the spaces/line breaks in your public key. In the pdf it will look like this xxxxasdbuhsebfdib 6ert5iuhsdfknsefd 5etjnnsfdlksndfas but it has to look like this asdjfn48578f8f88b8cv88c8b8cb8adf8a8gbd8fb 8sdjghsfhsdffD6SDG5SDB7

I was finally able to get a miner working on my KDE Neon which is based off of Ubuntu 16.04: From terminal install Nvidia Cuda toolkit and gdebi Go to minergate and download their 16.04 Ubuntu miner. Click to install. Works. But unfortunately they don't have ETN as a coin to mine but they do have Monero so I'm mining that for right now. Over 400 hashes a second using both cpu and gpu - i5 & gtx960m with an external fan attached to the gpu port to keep it cool. I messaged them on Facebook to add ETN Vote here: Tell them to add an Electroneum pool and let us merge mine Fantomcoin with it. It's free coins, as long as you have a FCN address and you are mining a cryptonote based currency your FCN balance keeps going up too. Should work with ETN as far as I know. m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=2001650890120623&id=1483776321908085
