edit: right now it can't use GPU but only CPU. they will update it soon, anyway,it's easy to use anyway for cpu mining on any pool

I might give that a try. Could you explain the bit about pools eg. entries for "pool" and "custom pool" and he recommends not using the official pools?
Not actually downloaded it yet, just want to get a better idea of it before I do!

Not actually downloaded it yet, just want to get a better idea of it before I do! ufficial pools are having lots of probelms, have 4% fees and 100ETN payout. custom pools are going smooth, have 2% or less fees and pay at 20ETN or less

Thanks. How can you tell if it is working or not? When I click start mining some sort of window briefly flashes into existence and disappears straight away. Hmm.... Techie stuff.

Try disabling the antivirus, or add an exception

Don't understand the place this link takes me ?? It's not a miner. If you can recommend a user friendly CPU miner in which I can point hashparty.io to , I would be grateful. Thanks

Yeah, looks like it's gone...
mrnewguy, thanks, I'd already done that maybe should reinstall (but as per above it's gone)
Not sure why it opens with a different wallet address...
In the folder there are two apps, one is called electroneum easy cpu/gpu miner, that opens OK. The other app is just called CPU miner, which simply says it won't run at all on my computer and check with the developer for a version that does. Are these alternatives or you need both to run?

Yeah, looks like it's gone... mrnewguy, thanks, I'd already done that maybe should reinstall (but as per above it's gone) That happened to me with the basic Windows miner - try looking in the quarantine section of your antivirus. It's likely that your antivirus did its job and moved the suspicious program away to quarantine. Usually there's an option to 'restore' the miner. Then before running it again, add an exception to the miner. I have McAfee and I found out how to do that by googling it

I have McAfee too. I already restored the quarantined items and added exceptions for all the various bits that were downloaded. That was easy enough to do as I'd already gone through it all for the official miner. But still no good, just like the windows miner. I think it's something inherent in this machine, it's just not up to the task.

Hey lads, creator here. The website was down because of all the reddit traffic, but I've switched hosts & added SSL and it's all up and running again!
As for the wallet address that appears when you first start it up, that's my address. The box automatically clears when you go to enter your own address, and a reminder is posted at the bottom of the window, it's there so that the program doesn't throw any errors if someone decides to start mining without entering their own address, as well as to serve as a 'donation' feature where you can mine to that address whilst working out your mining settings.
petesnewusername, the copy of cpuminer bundled with my frontend program only supports 100% supports Intel Core i3/i5/17 cpus, other cpus might work but I haven't tested them. If the window does not stay open, then your system isn't currently supported, although it would help you could reply with your system specifications so I can have a look for a future update.
In addition GPU Mining has been added.
If your system meets all of the above specified requirements and STILL doesn't work, your antivirus might be blocking certain aspects of the zip from running.
Thanks for using my front-end, I hope this information helps.

Hope this is not a stupid question, but how do I check how much ETN I'm earning through this?
